Question:

I was married to US Citizen but my I-40 & I-485 is pending status during the time that I was married.?

What should I do now? I wasn't planning on that, Just happens over the summer, Do I have to update or wait for the final approval?

  1. Not quite certain what you mean - can you clarify the question?  Do you mean an

    I-140?  And you filed for adjustment of status - was it based on your wife also adjusting status, and now you are divorced?  Please explain.


  2. I think you need to show that you entered into the marriage on good faith - that you weren't using marriage as a way to get a U.S. visa. You should definitely hire an expert to help you figure out the best way to proceed.

    If you are already here in the U.S., I think you need to show that you're economically self-sufficient and well-behaved and you might be OK, but I don't really know.
