I was not fired, but I was told my job was in limbo, because they just now found out that I am under 18 (I told them that before, but apparently it did not matter). I am scheduled to work tomorrow (Labor Day), but was told not to come in by another girl with te same job title as me. Should I call my district manager? Also, what are the chances that I might keep my job. Please note- their under 18 policy has nothing to do with worker's comp, it is simply because they don't want to deal with curfew laws, but since I am a junior in college, I can get a waiver for that.

  1. Don't trust the word of the girl with the same job title as you. How would she have the authority to tell you not to come in? It definitely wouldn't hurt to call your DM and confirm what you were told.

If their under-18 rule is simply for convenience, I would think you'd have a pretty good chance of keeping your job as long as you can prove to them (mention your waiver) that the curfew laws won't affect your ability to work.

    Good luck!
