It depends on the bank policy.

It depends on company policies.  Many companies have the rule that an employee must work the day before and/or after the holiday to get paid for it.  Check your employee manual

Some will some won't, i worked for morrisons and if we were sick the day after a bank holiday especially if we didn't work the bank holiday we were paid nothing. I guess it does look suspicious but if you rpoduced a doctors note then maybe they would!

If your working week includes Mondays, then yes you are entitled to get paid for the bank holiday.

Depending on your contract re sick pay, you may or may not get paid for the day after though.

Each employer is required to set their own policy regarding payment for bank holidays rather than there being one law for this, so the short answer is that we don't know.

But I would assume that yes, if you would have been paid for the holiday if you hadn't been off sick the next day, then you should be paid for it anyway.
