I accepted an employment contract for three years by a CEO that did not meet the minimum standard of being a CEO in a Hospital in Arizona. The State required that a CEO have a "Clinical" background to be in-charge of a hospital and he did not. I was offered a Three (3) year contract which was terminated by the same guy (Toxic Boss). Since he legally should not have had the authority to offer the contract since he was in breach of (Conditions of Participation) because he was in breach of state law,.....do I have any grounds to sue for the rest of the contract? What are my chances? Dean

  1. It's a great country with lots of lawyers -- many of whom are legislators.  As a result you can sue whoever you want for any reason.

Now as to your grounds and chances of winning.

It depends on why your contract was terminated.  If the reason given complied with the terms of the contract you will probably lose.

If it is due to a difference of opinion you may win.

If anything the fact that the CEO did not meet the legal requirements of the state would not work in your favor since it could call into question the validity of the contract.

    Hope this helps

  2. it doesn't sound like it-technically, the contract never existed if he was not a legal signatory
