I was on holiday and I noticed that several people's bags had been wrapped in clingfilm.?

It was in Turkey (Alanya airport, to be exact) and I think they were from somewhere Eastern Bloc.

  2. there are machines that do this in lots of airports...it's xtra protection for the bag i guess...

  3. A lot of airports have a machine where you can film wrap your luggage to protect it from damage.  It costs about £8.  Since my luggage is worth less than that, I never bother.

  4. Think it is to stop over filled bags from bursting open on the plane.  Know someone who had to do this.

  5. For some reason its done alot, by the person who has the bag i think its so everyting keeps dry as extra security.

  6. This is just another rip off, they talk people into letting them wrap up their luggage, then they charge them for it and the joke is that A, it causes them to stick on things and stops the cases sliding properly, 2, The cling film tears on its way through.

  7. A most airports they have machines were you pay a couple of pounds and can have your cases wrapped like this for extra security

  8. i flew from athens 2 wks ago saw the same thing. the idea i think is so ya know your bags not been tampered with? its a service you have to pay for.

  9. It just basically keeps your bag closed and secure. It also keps it dry but i think its quite expensive to be honest.

  10. It is a service you can get in many airports to help with bag security  (as in people interfering with your bag) to stop theft

    they charge for it
