You can hire bike to roam around if you are more in leaisure mode. Taxis are very expnsive and you may not find it comfortable looking for buses. Bikes can be hired on per day basis.

My experice say, new years is bit expnsive in goa for travel than year around(specailly monsoon is quie cheap). You should alos check for hotel availibility as they might be booked already,

iam a goan. it is good that you are plannig to come to goa for new years. there is nothing like a rise in rates here on such occasion, instead the rate falls. but i would like you to suggest a few points:-

1. the rates and expense in goa are exepensive than any other place;;;;; always!

2. never entertain strangers and foriegners.

3. don't drink and leave ur luggage on others care.

4. dont swim in deep sea as it is cold......you might drown.

5. no girls...... you will...?

6. at the most travel by bus. they are cheap.

7. be careful with the taxis. fix a rate before you board in.

8. better not travel at night.

9. don't enter schools without permission....otherwise gail.

10. if you have come to enjoy here. then bring a lot of money and keep them in a credit card than on hand.

11. if you are here for exploring, temples, beach, monuments....very moderate money is enough.

12. everything including food and hotel (cheap) and travel. should go around: rs.600/- per day.

It will be just the double amount of money as compared to othe r months
