  1. You left out many details, so I will try to tackle the possibilities I see:

    1. For the time off from work because the plant is closed - No, not at all. They are only required to pay you for the time you work.

    2. Time off from work because you were suspended for causing the leak. Same as 1

    3. You were injured because of the leak. Perhaps. depends on the situation.

If you are out of work while the plant is shut down, you can file for unemployment.

  2. case for what ?

They have no work for you.  They laid you off.

Either wait for them to get things fixed or find a new job.

What do you think you could sue for ?  geeez

  3. If it happened at work then file for Workers Compensation.   If he does not pay into the program then you can sue him for compensation due to your work related injuries.

If this did not happen at work then he can do pretty much what he wants.

  4. you probably  qualify for state unemployment . if you breathed the ammonia and sufferd damage (med bills , lung damage ) you got a lawyers wet dream .

  5. No. I'm afraid that that doesn't sound like any kind of legal case to me.

If you are not re-instated within a week or two, though, then you could file for a loss of income...
