I was raped in my dream by someone I hate and my friends just watched?

I had this dream where I had 3 friends who knew this guy who hated me and I hated them. Suddenly one day he decided to rape me in front of my 3 friends. We were all in the same room and I screamed for help. The natural action would be for them to help me but my 3 friend just watched, pretended to sleep, and ignored me getting raped.

What are some things this dream can mean?

  1. have you had this dream before?

somtimes if you watch svu or csi:Miami type shows before bed those can be stuck in your head then you dream about somthing similar.

  2. I haven taken two years of psychology and have learned a lot about the study of dreams.

I'm sure what you are thinking, is Freud's theory that dreams have some kind of meaning.  However, during his time there was not much scientific study on the brain.

He was also biased.  Most of his patients were wealthy women.  Plus, he is seen as an eccentric pervert by many psychologist.

There is no scientific study that proves dreams have any meaning.

They are simply neurons firing in your brain, and your brain tries to understand them as best as it can.  And in your sleep, you have most of your frontal lobe inactive - which means you can't make logic of your dreams.

If you were to see a flying pig in your dream, you probably wouldn't think "hey - pigs don't fly, i must be dreaming" because you can't use logic in your sleep.

There is no meaning to it.

Diet, and stress contribute a lot to your dreams though.

But there is no secret meaning to them, nor are they premonitions.

Remember "The Fallacy of Positive Instances" which means that people tend to remember only dreams that do come true and forget about the thousands of others that never did come true...and then think they had a psychic vision.

    Don't worry.

    They don't mean a thing.

It wont tell you anything about how you feel or think.

They are just random images your brain puts together in your sleep.

  3. deep down, you want to be raped by this guy. You know you want to. You may not admit it but that is what your deepest conciousness tells you. And you don't want your friends to prevent this.

    OR

You might dislike him for a reason that is unfair to him so you wanted him to do something real bad to you so that you can hate him for a reason. And you don't want your friends to stop him.

  4. No one can interpret your dreams or tell you what they mean. Only you can do this. Never mind those who say they can tell you what your dream "means." It only means something to YOU because you give it your personal meaning.

Don’t bother with dream books, dream dictionaries, internet sites that tell you to look for codes or symbols or hidden mysteries in dreams. Dreams do not contain such things. Dreams are straightforward, just like your waking thoughts.

There is always a purpose to a dream. Everything that human beings think, feel, or do has a purpose. It is part of what Dr. Alfred Adler called "the psychology of use."

Dreams don't come to you from outside yourself, nor do they arise from your "subconscious." Once you become aware of having a dream, it’s conscious. You make your dreams up. You create them, just as you create your thoughts.

The purpose of your dreams while you are asleep is the same as the purpose of your thoughts while you are awake. That is, to solve your problems.

Figure out the purpose of a dream and the problem it is trying to solve, and you have its meaning. Dreams are thoughts while you sleep, attempting to solve your problems.

  5. You feel that he's being awful to you (hence the rape) and your friends aren't sticking up for you the way they should.
