I was refused an employment application?

In Texas. I asked if a Motel 8 was hiring and the girl said that they were not hiring and refused to give me an application. It struck me as weird because I'm not a drug user and I look quite conservative. She said that they were hiring for only housekeeping and sure I wasn't interested. So I left with nothing but a refusal. Is this legal?

depends on the reason for the refusal.

if you want to work there as a housekeeper, then go back and tell them that and start the process.

otherwise, move along.
