  1. No.  No matter what you would have to pay your deductible first.  (usually $500 - $1000).  So if it's not worth that... then you won't break even.  Secondly, your insurance company WILL get it's money back from you.  When you file a claim with your insurance company, they will raise your rates, guaranteed.  So when you do it, it BETTER be worth it.

  2. Yes, of couse you should report it to your insurance company.  Why wouldn't you ?  If your deductible exceeds the possible insurance payment, the insurance company will tell you that.  This would be covered under your comprehensive and therefore your rates shouldn't go up.

  3. Reporting a Stolen Cop Detector to the Cops LMAO that's funny (not that you were robbed though).

  4. If you have comprehensive coverage you will be covered.  However, the deductible may exceed the value of the items that were stolen.  Any damage to the dashboard?   You will not get a new stereo, just replacement.  The radar detector may not be covered if it was not permanently affixed to the vehicle.

  5. Definitely fill out a police report.  Whether you file an insurance claim depends on your deductible.

If the depreciated value of the items is more than your deductible, you can consider filing a claim.

My guess is that they were not more or the difference will not be worth filing a claim.  Once you file a claim, your insurance may go up.

Also, where was your car parked?

If it was at your home, it would be covered under your homeowners policy or renters policy, and not your car insurance policy.

Same thing happened to me in College, when the thieves stole a 10' kicker speaker I had that was blown.  I should have just left the car unlocked, because the smashed window cost more than anything they took.

  6. Yeah definitely. You will get brand new items to replace those old ones.

  7. Did you insure your radio &/or cop detector?

IF so, is it worth the amount you insured? Because if you make a claim, your premiums will go up.
