I was scamemd a few months ago for a ps3, i sent a postal money order and never saw the d**n ps3.

I already reported it to the FBI website, which i was told to do by the police, i also filled out a mail fraud report wiht the post office, still havent heard anything back from anyone. I am sick of waiting. I dont think there is anything else i can do but maybe someone here knows of another thing i can do.

I live in Southern MN and i sent the Postal money order for 220 dollars to West Fargo, MN.

Any ideas?

  2. Nope, you just lost 220 bucks, even if the seller were found, chances of getting any of your money back would be zero.

  3. I don't know that there's anything else you can do... but tell us how this happened.  Did you buy it on ebay or something?

edit:  Ok, well after reading your updates, here's my thoughts.  First off, you know the person's phone number, address and possibly their name (i think they'd have to give you a real one for them to cash your check unless you made it out to cash?)  Anyway, with that information you can take them to small claims court.  Here's a link to the MN court info on conciliation court http://www.mncourts.gov/selfhelp/?page=3...  You should be able to file the case against them for very little money and you don't need a lawyer so that won't cost you.  You may still have difficulty getting them to actually pay even if you win.  Here's some info about how to go about that http://www.mncourts.gov/selfhelp/?page=1...

Did you pay with a postal order from the post office?  Or did you pay with a personal check/money order from the bank?  You may be able to go to your bank and have them reverse the check - I don't know if that's possible but it might work.  If you got a postal order from the post office it might be harder, but if you have the receipt you could talk to them about what to do.

    good luck!

  4. Follow up with the FBI.  You should have a branch in your closest major city.  There is one in Minneapolis.  Tell them your situation.  You should have received a report number, so have that handy.  The FBI will be more than willing to update you.

  5. Call Chuck Norris....haha

  6. man if you dont type out a professional email and scare the ish out of them makeing it look like your from the fbi or police department or something man contact me i can help please do i hate scammers

  7. who?

    what?

    where?

    huh?

  8. If it was a "Postal" money order, that makes the crime a FELONY.

You can stick with this, and when they find the person that scammed you, the judge can order restitution for them to pay you back.

You can also sue the person in Civil Court.

If you would have used VISA or PayPal, those institutions guarantee their transactions, and they would have reimbursed you.

Sure am sorry you were scammed.  That hurts :\
