The bottles, nipples, covers etc have been boiling for 50 mins on the stove (electric). Will the long boiling have caused any reaction? Can I use those bottles? They are plastic ones.

  1. if they have no signs of melting, i dont see why not. from now on, leave them in the empty sink and pour the boiling water on them and when the water is cool, then you can take them out and wont have to worry about forgetting

  2. You are not the 1st mom to do this. As long as the bottles didn't melt and the nipples and accessories did not crack, wait for them to cool off and Inspect them. If all is well you can continue using them. If not, it's time to break out the ones you got at the baby shower!!LOL

  3. I wouldn't use them!!!  I know it's not good to even drink water from a bottle that has been sitting in the sun for too long.  I wouldn't risk it.  There's always the possibility for cancer.  Why take the risk?

  4. I would be VERY concerned that the plastic will have started to break down - you should contact the manufacturer of the bottles for advice.  If the nipples feel "sticky" at all, throw them out for sure.
