  1. Lucky not to be called but there is still a chance that you could be summoned for jury duty again.

  2. In response to the first answer you got, I get a little tired of the attitude that jury duty is something to be avoided.  I've been on a jury twice and it is definitely an interesting experience...one that I think every American (or Brit or Canadian, etc.)should do.

That said, the system is generally pretty good at weeding out the low-lifes who don't deserve the HONOR of being picked as a juror.

In answer to your question, it's rare to be summoned for jury duty more than once a year...but a lot of it is dependant on the population of your court's jurisdiction, compared to the number of cases they have to deal with.  I've heard that folks who live in small towns tend to get called on more often than folks who live in large cities.

I live in a fairly large city and have been summoned five or six times in my 23 eligible years.  I've had to report four times, and actually got chosen twice.  FYI, the first time we convicted a child molestor...let me tell you how satisfying that was!!!

  3. Yes they can summons you again; but, it has nothing to do with not being called. I didn't have jury duty for years then suddenly had it twice in 6 months... go figure.
