Well here's the thing. I was supposed to get my period around the 17th-18th of this month and I still haven't gotten it yet. Since then I have taken 5 pregnancy test and all have come out negative. There was one point when I felt like I was about to get it... but it never came.

I had a baby about 7 months ago and I've been getting my period like I should be. No, I'm not on birth control and we don't always use condoms... but my problem isn't "What if I get pregnant" its more like... "If I'm not pregnant then why haven't I gotten my period yet". Actually, I would love to have another baby here soon. :) And also.... i haven't been really stressed out or anything... and i'm not lactating and never breastfed so i know those arent the reasons why i havent gotten it yet.

So my question is.... if i'm not pregnant... and I haven't gotten my period... then what's goin on? What could be the cause of this?

  1. Not to sound scary but irregular periods are often symptoms of ovarian cysts or cancer.  If you are having a hormonal change which is very possible since you had a baby 7 months ago, this can reset your body as well. In many cases your ovaries are not ready to shed yet. You should have yourself checked out just to be safe.

  2. Here are some reasons you might not get your menstrual cycle:

    Pregnancy

Premature menopause (this can affect women in their early twenties)

    Weight loss

    Weight gain

Some forms of medication including the contraceptive pill or injections

    Drug abuse

    Stress

Hormonal imbalances such as an underactive thyroid gland or the overproduction of a hormone called Prolactin.

A condition called polycystic ovaries (see below) is a very common cause of irregular or absent periods

You may want to make an appointment with your doctor if you are concerned.

  3. you could be stressed out.. that has always delayed my period a week or so at least.. are you stressed? if the tests are negative you are like 99% not pregnant give it another week or so then your period will come i bet u money.. just dont stress about it NOT coming cuz then it will delay more...

  4. I know that you said that you are not stressed.  Maybe you don't feel stressed but your body is though.  That could be it.  Are you eating normal?  If your not eating as much as you used to that could stop your period.  I think that unless your pregnant it might just be a late period just give it some time.
