I was supposed to get my rebate check in June. I still don't have it!?

My check was supposed to be sent out on June 20th. I still have yet to receive it. I do not owe the IRS anything, nor is there any reason I should not be receiving a check. This is just very frustrating. Can someone help me out?

  1. Yeah, FREE money is causing a lot of frustration, instead of "thank you"

  2. Email the IRS...they are swamped right now, but that's the best I can offer

  3. You can check the status of your stimulus at:

    https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet...

According to the IRS it can take up to 6 weeks from the scheduled mailing date for a check to actually reach the intended recipient.  There are also other factors at play.

1>  Did you file last minute?  Your check will not be issued until your return is fully processed by the IRS regardless of the issue date for your SSN.

2>  For that matter, did you file?  If you did not, you will not receive a check, no matter what.

3>  If you received a refund, did you select Direct Deposit or a paper check.  If you selected a paper check, or you paid money to the IRS with your return, you will receive a paper check with the stimulus.  Paper checks are processed AFTER direct deposits in each run and this can delay payment.

  4. Did you receive the letter stating a certain amount was being mailed on that date, or confirmed it at the web site referenced in another post? If so, you'll need to wait at least four weeks before the IRS can run a trace. The web site will also tell you if the check has been returned as undeliverable.

By the way, some of the responses given are incorrect. For example, you can't email the IRS. Also, stimulus payments for returns that are processed late are sent about a week after the return has been processed.

  5. for some reason not all  checks were processed in the first batch, after this week they are starting all over again, first direct deposit and then mailings. To talk to a live person about your check call 1-800-829-0582 when asked put in ext.726, you might have to hold for a while but you will get through to a live person.

  6. When did you file?  If you efiled very close to 4/15, or filed by mail after mid-March, your return probably wasn't processed in time for your check to make this first batch, and you'll get it in late July or in August.

  7. for some reason it must have been sent back? if your address is different from what you use or live? anyhow they will send you another letter and you will get it  later proabbly aug or this month.
