I was supposed to get my stimulus check by June 6th, and still haven't gotten it??

Question

I got the letter from the irs like on june 2 saying I should receive my check by june 6th. However this date came and gone and here it is the 19th I still haven't received it. I keep trying to call the irs, but I'm on hold for like 30 minutes and then it says "we're having technical difficulties, please try your call again later." I don't know what to do! I try to call my local office and it's busy. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am having the same problem myself.  I did hear on the news that if you haven't gotten your check yet you will have to now wait even longer because somebody screwed up and accidentally sent out duplicate checks to people that already got theirs.  I don't know how much longer we have to wait though.  Do make sure to check your bank account to make sure it wasn't deposited in there and you just didn't notice.

I wouldn't live and die by the schedule that the IRS published.  My brother in law has a last to of "02", and didn't get his for a couple weeks after he was supposed to.  My wife and I got ours about a week before the scheduled date.

Asking around, it seemed more to be when you filed your taxes than the last two.  We filed ours in early february...brother-in-law waited until the first week of April.  One of my coworkers filed April 14th, and she got hers much later than the scheduled date.

i was suppose to get mine on june the 6 th also it is the 20 th and i am still waiting on my check i have called the irs also and still nothing

Are you sure it hasn't been directly deposited to your bank account?

I am supposed to be getting mine tomorrow 6/20/08 per the IRS letter I receives, I am not counting on it. I would wait another week and then contact the local office again by phone or possibly in writing. Good luck to you....
