The defensive midfielder of Juventus has gone on to state that he was mildly surprised by the immediate success that Juventus had, after his arrival from Leverkusen.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arturo-Vidal-c6760, along with the signing of Andrea Pirlo, have been the best signings that Antonio Conte made in his first season at the club. The Chilean arrived from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of 10.5 million Euros. There was a lot of interest in the services
of the defensive midfielder, with interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. However, it was Juventus, who were able to convince the midfielder to leave Leverkusen.
There was a bigger and better offer for Vidal from Bayern Munich for the technically gifted player; however, the club opted to sell him to Juve rather than offloading him to their direct rivals in the Bundesliga.
There was a question mark on where he would be playing for the Turin giants, as Andrea Pirlo prefers to lie deeper for a central midfielder, however, Antonio Conte derived a system which saw the Chilean play in the same midfield as Pirlo and Marchisio.
Arturo Vidal was talking to the official website of FIFA, fifa.com, and in his interview, he remarked that he was in the knowledge that the Turin giants had not been playing to their usual high standards when he joined. However, he also remarked that playing
for such a big historic club was an opportunity he could not turn down.
Before the arrival of Vidal to the club, the Bianconeri outfit had finished 7th for the past two seasons, however, under the Tutelage and guidance of Antonio Conte, the club prospered and muscled their way to the Scudetto victory.
The Chilean international went on to remark:
“I was aware when I joined that the team hadn't been getting good results, but I also knew that I was signing for a European giant. When I agreed the move, I did so thinking we could turn things around and fight for championships, and that's how it's turned
out. It didn't take us long to realise that we were capable of turning things around, though I have to admit, I was surprised that we finished unbeaten.”
Vidal has scored 10 times in the 41 appearances he has made for the Turin giants.
