I was taken off Paxil and put on Wellbutrin and feel horrible. PLEASE HELP!?

Hello.

I was currently taken off Paxil and was switched to Wellburtin. I feel like my nerves are shot and I just sit an cry and cry and cry for no reason whatsoever.. I really don't have much stress, I have a easy going job and a well established family relationship.

I get dizzy and my head just feels like it is in a fog..

Can any users tell me if this is normal or what should I do.

You might be experiencing withdrawal from Paxil (which is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) since Wellbutrin works on dopamine and norepinephrine combined with the effects of starting Wellbutrin.

I had to stop taking Wellbutrin this week due to the horrible emotional side-effects I was feeling but I've read it you can deal with it for eight weeks, it will get better. I couldn't. I felt like I was going crazy.

I would recommend talking with your doctor IMMEDIATELY! If you are feeling half as bad as I did on Wellbutrin, that is NOT a safe place to be in and you need to get help immediately.

call your psych doctor now. if you can't get them, call your regular doctor. One of the major side effects of wellbutrin is "agitation"- my husband had the exact same thing happen when switched.. he'd scream and yell then cry and cry. wellbutrin is a dopamine agonist, and for some people it is not at all a good time

he just stopped it right then, but it is better to call your doc too

anyway, the bad feelings will decrease pretty quickly, so hang in there!

you should go back to psychiatrist and tell him/her that you are feeling this way. why did you go on the paxil ? was it for depression or anxiety/panic? also, why did you switch to the wellbutrin? did the paxil stop working? you may be experiencing withdrawal effects from the paxil.
