I was terminated from my job.need help?

Question

a guy punched me i fought him off what do i do who can help me? and how? can i recieve unemployment? i had been working for that company for 4yrs.

im from texas. and it is exactly how it is I had an argument with a guy he punched me ,i defended myself and got fired for fighting.the rule is no type of fighting but what am i suppose to do when a guy attacks you?

Look in your employee manual, and take this up with whoever you are supposed to go to to contest wrongful termination.

If you have money you can file a lawsuit for unlawful termination. No matter where you are, you have a right and a moral obligation to defend yourself if you were truly attacked first. Nothing can stop you from filing for unemployment, worst case is that your claim gets rejected. I doubt any government agency would go after your former employer if you contacted them. It is very fashionable to not fight back. Schools, law enforcement and employers are always telling us not to defend ourselves if we are attacked... If you were truly defending yourself you should not of been fired. If you did anything over the top to start the fight or were the aggressor you should of been fired.
