I was thinking about changing my hard drive on my ps3?

where is the hard dive to on the ps3 and can i just buy like a 60gb one and but it where my normall one is will i get 60gb memory and will i still have my online settings and my trophys?

  1. In additiont to those answers I'll add that the instruction on HDD changing can be found in PS3's manual. Any 2,5" SATA 5400 rpm HDD will work. Western Digital and Seagate are good brands.

EASY!! first get a s***w driver and a new hard drive you want to put in ( 2.5 inch ) first take off the hard drive slot cover on the ps3 on its side, take the blue s***w out, pull the lever thing up and pull it to the right then slide the hard drive out and then take off the screws on the hard drive and put int he new one, then put everything back 2 gether same way u took it out and done if you want a video on how to do this heres a link

  3. The hardrive is in the side of your ps3. And yes if you have multiple flash drives you can save all of your current ps3 data on i'd guess over 5 jump drives and make backups, and then once you have saved all of your data to set amount of drives, go buy a bigger drive or w/e size you want then put the drives in and download all of the data which may take a while
