I was thinking about getting a perm...?

Question

My hair is thin (not baby like, but thin) and it falls just below b***s. I want bigger curls not so much of a spiral. I really like this... http://www.yolandanet.com/C/perm.jpg

Anybody have any thoughts?

Well, perms are really getting a bad rap! A perm for someone with think hair can be a good thing if done right. It will make the hair look fuller. I wouldrecommendd a rod that is not too small so the hairdoesn'tt frizz. A perm will also add texture so IF you want to curl it with rollers or an iron, the curl will hold better. I would say that anyone who got a bad perm would be against it but being a cosmetologist, I think it could be a good thing if done the right way.

i was in the same boat as you and girl it's not going to happen. i have thin hair but a whole lot of it and i truly ruined it when i got a perm for the same look. it took me years of reconstructing to get it back. don't do it in my opinion. good luck.

I agree with everyone else....you might want to try something else. If your hair is thin to begin with,not only will it be damaged more,but it wont look right your hair being thin. I doubt it would look like the picture unless you added weave. Why dont u put a pic of yourself up so ppl can see your hair and give you better advice ?

If your hair is thin, I'm not sure you'll be able to get that type of full-bodied curl. Why don't you try some hair inserts? They look very natural, and you wouldn't have to chemically process your hair to get that same look. And if you don't like them after a while, it's easy to pull them out. With a perm, you have to wait for everything to grow out.

I ahve thin hair and teh answer is lots of good layers and a pair of curling irons! Honest get a good voluminising product and a very careful cut and you can get a good effect. The girl in teh photo has very!!! thick hair or it may even be a wig!

perms are not really good for thin hair as they can often just look raggy!

A perm will not make it look like that. Besides, if your hair is thin, curls are probably not the way to go.

I think the curls are pretty but do you really need a perm? Perms can make you hair thinner than what you started out with. This can happen especially if it is not professionally done. I would go to a salon and get a consultation on your hair form a stylist that not only believes in hair design but also believes in hair care... Good luck!
