  1. The ONE term in your question that tells me you are NOT teacher material is "slow down."  If you think that being a teacher is slow or you don't have to work much, you need to "job shadow" a teacher for a month or two before you decide!   If you want to be a GOOD teacher, you have to work non-stop, and work your butt off!!!

  2. why not?

  3. I think your background will serve you well... you can put your skills in communication to good use by working with young people. It's never to late... contact your State Board of Education to see what it takes to get certified.  Then take your first class... once you get started, you'll have the momentum to finish.  I've taught for 23 years... took a brief four year break after 12 years to work as an investment broker.... working at investments just wasn't as meaningful to me as teaching children, so I returned to my field.  You might want to check out www.alternativeeducationbible.com for some true stories teachers have written... I think you'll find some very eye-opening.

  4. its indeed possible and not too hard...go ahead and do it

just remember to open a retirement account as soon as you start teaching.  When I first started (age 23) I opened up a 403B, similar to 401k but for educators...($200 was enough, you may want to put in more depending on your age).  For most districts, 25 years of service is enough...do forget IRAs and don't depend on your Social Security.  In Califonia, educators have CalSTRS or PERS instead.

    Good luck to you

  5. The sky is your limit!!! Go for it!!!

  6. all i say is to never limit or intimidate yourself. keep going and good luck!
