  1. That's not a visa, you are talking about a Travellers Declaration Card.  No, you don't have to fill one out, they are only distributed for flying.  The average Land crossing of Canadians going to the US and back does not require any paperwork.

  2. If you are a Canadian citizen, it is no different than if you drive a car across. And the bus stops at the border for US immigration processing.

  3. I have never heard that you can obtain a visa at the airport in Vancouver.

I suppose that you already have checked and found out that you indeed need a Visa to enter US.  If that is the case.

Yes you need to present a valid visa before crossing the border, no matter what means of transportation.

Again, I am not sure that one can actually go to the border and ask to be issued a visa.

  4. dont worry greyhound wont let you board with out the proper documentation, when i was there last i had to go through customs and fill out a form and give my passport and tell where i was going. greyhound will know what you need and they have the stuff listed on their website.

let me tell you though the canadians seemed warm, inviting, and friendly, and while trying to get back into my country they ( the us customs people) were very rude to the me and the other passengers.
