Do you know of any websites that will send free broshures for different places to live there? I have had no luck finding anything. I was also wondering what is a good website to go to that converts USA dollars to Ireland dollars to see how much I will need for a move.

Thank you in advance

  1. Not all of the EU countries use the euro, 12 of the original 15 use the euro though and none of the new states do, yet.

  2. http://www.xe.com/ucc/  This is a currency converter.  Ireland doesn't use dollars.  The south of Ireland uses the Irish Punt and the north of Ireland uses the Pound Sterling.

  3. Hi

I would think again if I were you.  Ireland is Very expensive to live in!!  Plus the electricity and gas are going up in September!  Have a look through the buy and sell for accommodation, http://www.buyandsell.ie Hope it helps! :-)

  4. Ireland uses EURO, like many other European countries, including Italy (where I live).

I've been to Ireland several times. Ireland and Italy have the same currency now. It used to have Irish Punts in the past

    ;-)

    Ciao

  5. ireland hasnt used punts for years

  6. Ireland dollars hahahaha i burst out laughing there.Imagine that there'd be a big irish flag printed on 1 side of the banknote and a pint of Guinness on the other(if i had my way anyway hahaha)we used the irish pound up until 2002 and now all the EU countries use the same cureency called the euro so we can trade easily and cheaply with one another.I wouldnt advise you to move at the moment...i really am sorry to say but after year on year double digit economic growth ireland has entered recession for the first time in 25years.Unemployment levels are increasing at record speed...we are seeing the quickest monthly unemployment increases since records began in 1975.For a decade 100s of 1000s of people were coming here for work and now they are going back home because there are no job oppurtunities here.Irish people are starting to emigrate already(it was on rte 2fm this morning).Im just giving you a heads up.If ur still moving here then dublin has all the amenities but the west(clare, kerry, mayo, galway)have the most beutiful scenery in the world(however there are much less amenities and services in rural ireland)Failte(welcome)!
