  1. Of course you have to pay taxes.

  2. LOL...NO, it's not.

  3. Where did you get that idea?  Of course it is taxable.

  4. I disagree with Quizzard's assertion that "You earn money, you pay taxes. Period." If I convert my labor by making a sculpture, then sell it to someone for $5000, will I pay taxes on it? h**l no.

There are countless examples of this, for example, a 15 year old mows lawns in the neighborhood for $10 an hour. This generally does not get reported to the I.R.S. (It's Really Slavery). This is because the money paid does not constitute "wages" from "employment" as those words are defined in the Internal Revenue Code (Title 26-- look it up).

If an employer sends the IRS an INFORMATION RETURN (w-2, 1099 for example) stating that your pay was taxable, then the IRS will come looking for your money. Americans have a right to contract, and trade their own labor in an unlimited fashion. Tax is a type of limitation.

The only way your labor becomes taxable is if it is somehow Federally-connected. The assumption that it is taxable comes from you swearing on your 1040 that you earned "wages" and "income". Interest paid to you by a Federal entity is also considered "income".

Keep your mind open. Most of what Americans believe to be true is a result of decades of misinformation by people who benefit from our ingnorance. There is a lot to learn, and the misunderstanding on this topic is extensive.

Read Pete Hendrickson's "Cracking the Code". It's a great book for people who want to understand the truth about the Federal Income Tax.

    Cheers-

  5. No, it is not tax free.

Any job where taxes are not taken out means that you are self employed or independent contractor. Then your income is also subject to 15.3% SE tax.

  6. Of course not.   All income is taxable in the US.

  7. Where did you ever get the idea that that might be tax free??  Of course it isn't!

  8. Not a chance.  Income tax is exactly the same no matter where you work

  9. Where in the world did you get that idea?  Why would it be tax-free?  What you make at either of those is taxable income.

  10. The only tax free income for U.S. Postal workers is Equipment Maintainence Allowance (EMA) for rural carriers who use their own vehicles to deliver the U.S. Mail. My annual salary is taxed, but my nearly $6,500 of EMA is not taxed. I have to use EMA money to buy gas and maintain my vehicle for delivery. I still have to pay taxes to maintain my vehicle. Taxes on gas, repairs, tires, and vehicle registration. As for UPS, I don't know much about them. They are a private company not associated with USPS.

  11. Huh?  Why would you think any job was tax free?  I could maybe see why somebody with no knowledge might think a government job could be tax free (thus USPS), but that is completely wrong.

And as for UPS, why would anybody think a private company's employees would be tax free?

You earn money, you pay taxes.  Period.
