I was thinking...how many cities/towns are in the U.S....?

Question

i was looking at a world map today and it only showed the capital cities of each country. I know it would be completely ridiculous to list every city on the map. HECK, it would be ridiculous to list every single city/town in a U.S. map.....and then i got to thinking...how many cities would you have to put on a United States map in order to show EVERY city or town??

i dont know that anyone will be able to answer this silly question but give it your best shot :)
