I really don't know what to do in the time being--in terms of a career--and I love to travel so I thought of becoming a flight attendant, I looked into it online, but a lot of the websites looked like scams or something. Can someone tell me what I should do?

  1. well i work for the air line air transat in montreal  and all you have to do is aply for the job and if you are selected they will call you in and send you for safty classes and some personel cedentional just go and see the them you have all to gain nothing to loose hope it works out for you...

  2. Try contacting airlines directly.  They'd have to know.

  3. being a flight attendant is risking ur life

  4. Depends on your location.

Before you start, there are a few regulations that you have to be on top of, some like physical - ie the ability to swim at least 50 metres unaided, often certain height requirements, education - ie certain year level attained, first aid courses are of benifit, and being able to speak another language is seen as an advantage on numerous international airlines.

Most of the time, research you airline at it's website. On their websites, they will have a Career's area, and look for any opening positions etc. Many discount airliners will have more opportunities than larger international airlines. Search in many locations. Not just  the airlines, but some job websites, but as you encountered, be careful. Airline websites are the best option.

Give them a call to enquire more, don't be afraid to contact them, take the initiative. Ask around in the industry if you have any friends/family that are in that field. Sometimes the next time you fly, have a chat to the cabin crew, see how they got in. Most of the time they are happy to comply with a few questions.
