I was thinking of buying something on ebay?

but iv heard of people getting scammed on ebay so im not sure, is ebay really safe to buy items and is it not a scam

I have bought and sold many things on ebay.  I think that if you check the sellers ratings that should tell you how many bad experiences other people have had with them.  If you establish a paypal account (to pay and get paid) I think that the transaction is better protected.  If you don't receive an item, they will refund your money, but I have never had a bad experience.  Check ratings!  That is the key!

eBay is safe because you pay via pay-pal. Pay-pal provides a better transaction. If you are scammed, you can report the item to eBay or to pay-pal. Be careful as some items in eBay are fake. Read through the item description thoroughly if you think the item is dodgy.

You can also check the sellers account to see his/her rating. If he/she has too many negatives, don't buy from them.

How many years has eBay been online, and yet you think it's all just a scam?  Millions of dollars change hands daily, and yet you think it's still just a scam?   I think you should crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of.  The Internet is frightening for little brained people like you.

I wouldn't say that ebay is bad.  I have purchased many many items and I was burned once.  My item never arrived and because I didn't purchase the insurance, the seller won.  I paid for an item that I never received.  The funny thing was that I tried to pay through paypal and her paypal didn't work so I sent a money order, which she received and cashed.  I don't know if all of that was a coincidence or what, but I never received  a darn thing.
