Mileage sounds high for a three year old car, price should be adjusted for mileage (under 45K)...check Kellybluebook.com for value.

The "excellent" valuation only should exist in fantasy land.  That is basically a garage darling that is only cleaned with bottled water and lovingly wiped down with a cloth baby diaper.  "Very good" or "good" is probably more appropriate.

$5500 - $6000 is more like it.

And while a competent vehicle, it is pretty vanilla.  Reliability is spotty, and it has lost well over 50% of it's value in 3 yrs.  You will be upside down on the loan for some time.  And once it cracks 100k miles, forget about getting a fair trade in price when you are ready for a new vehicle.

I'd look for a 2001 or so Camry.  The Malibu is GM's copy of that vehicle.
