I was thinking of getting a Bally's Membership and was doing reseach and saw that they have a pool.?

Would it be ok for me to wear my speedo when doing laps?

Yes it would be acceptable to wear a speedo at Bally's.  While I have never been a member at Bally's, my friends who have had not had much good to say about the gym.  I've been a member with LA Fitness for 8 years and love it.  I swim there 5 days a week and wear a speedo every time; I'm not the only one either, though we are still the minority.

I have been wearing brief bathers at 24 hour fitness for years. Its the only way to swim.

If you are comfortable wearing speedos in public then what is the issue?  They certainly have no rule against it.

Check out Bally's and the pool before you join, though.  I quit Bally's a couple of years ago because they turned their pool over to 'Australian Swim School' and took over half the lanes for teaching swimming to little kids.  That wasn't so much of a problem except for waiting times for lane space being increased significantly.  The more serious problem was that they raised the pool temperature well above that which is comfortable for extended fitness swimming.  If you like swimming in 88-degree water then, hey, go for it.  But that was way too warm for me.
