  1. hjAS, because you don't allow people to contact you, I have to say this in public -- the law does NOT say that if both parents are U.S. citizens at birth, and they give birth overseas, then the child is automatically a U.S. citizen.  At least one parent has to demonstrate that they resided in the U.S.

While it's true that 95% (or higher!) of kids born overseas to U.S. citizen parents will indeed be citizens themselves, and consular officials are sloppy about enforcing the residency partof the law, an increasing number do not have citizenship rights.  As our nationality laws become more and more lax and liberal, we'll see more and more cases of people who have U.S. citizenship but have never resided there -- indeed people who have hte blue passport, but have never even been there.

TO THE ASKER OF THE QUESTION:  Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.  If you're not willing to serve the U.S., even to the point of fighting for it (as unlikely as that is), please don't come here and try and get citizenship.  There are enough free riders as it is.

  2. Props to Boyabuja...

  3. are your parents orgininally US citizens? if so? you are as well, if they obtain citizenship afterwards? you are not and will not , unless you actually live in the US for a period of time.

the US  no longer has draft services and it applied only to men, it is  longer is in effect .

now? were your parents US citizen at your birth? if so you are an US citizen automatically by right of # jus sanguinis # blood rights given to you at birth by your parents.

you will have to get their birth certificates, yours and go to the nearest consulat of the US in your country to claim your citizenhip,

if you need more help with this? do come back to this question? edit it by using the little pencil under your question,

click on it and add comments if you wish? i will come back tomorow. it is now late here in Europe.

  4. 1. Where were your parents born?

---- A.  If they were born in the USA, then all you need is a copy of their birth certificates to estabilish your American citizenship.

---- B. If they were not born in the USA, then when did they become naturalized American citizens?

--------- 1.  If it was before you were born, then you need copies of their naturalization records to establish your citizenship.

--------- 2. If it was after you were born, they should have automatically changed your citizenship with theirs.

    2.  The US Military does not have a draft currently.  The military in the US is voluntary.  Anyone (male/female) can apply to the US armed forces, but no one is drafted.

I suggest sitting down with your parents to discuss this in detail with them.  They probably have all the answers you require.

  5. The US Selective Service Military Draft applies to men only.

Based on your post, you do not need to be concerned about the draft.
