  1. yes i'm sure you could find some people who can speak english and polish to help you

  2. ive been there me self and i got around fine with english, there not exactly experts but you get around

  3. the kids in poland learn english in school, but i dont think many people speak really good English, only some.

  4. I spent a week in Poland with a mate, of which three days were in Krakow. We got by just fine. English is very widely spoken. A few tips - taxi touts are the biggest ripoffs anywhere. Ignore them. Same with street vendors offering to change your money. Railway guards are scum, and love targeting tourists. Always buy a first class ticket if you are travelling by rail - it costs a few pennies more and denies them the opportunity of charging you a few quid for accidentally stepping into a first class compartment. (Happened to me. B*st*rds.)  Have fun. Send me a postcard.

    p.s. Snakes?

  5. Don't worry  people in Poland  speak  eather englishor polish.

  6. Yes, that and German.

Could say: "nie mowie po polsku" - "I don't speak Polish".

  7. First of all certainly go it's a magical city and the atmosphere is fantastic!! There is so much to see and do no matter what your age or what you're interested trust me on that I went last year for my 14th Birthday and I loved it!!

2nd of all to answer your question it is spoken it's not so brilliantly spoken with some of the older people but the majority people speak english but you don't really need it if you're anywhere near the centre cos you can just walk :) but the Polish are very friendly and you'll love your time there.

There are also a lot of tours you can take we went to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines with a company called Cracow Tours which you can find in the Rynek Glowny (The big square in the old town) and they picked you up outside of certain hotels at certain times of the day and take you to where you are going to visit, and they also give you a tour guide to take your group round.

  11. Yes there are not so many peoples who can speak english I was many times in Poland, better if you go to some town where are many of turists maby there are working some students and you can have whot you want, but Krokow is very old and nice town, any way good luck:)

  12. Don't worry, the Polish people are generally intelligent and well-educated.  Most will speak English because they take the learning of foreign languages seriously in other countries, unlike the UK.

  13. Yes it is, especially since the EU treaty, more and more Brits are buying property there so the locals are encouraged to cater for their needs which include themed restaurants etc etc

Much like what we are doing in the UK for them.

    Hope this helps.

  14. I doubt it will be a problem, to be honest. English is widely spoken throughout Eastern Europe now.

However, it's always well received if you learn a couple of phrases in the local language, like please, thank you, do you speak English? If you have a good guide book for Krakow, there should be a bit with that at the back of it.
