I go to San Luis Tax Service in a Moneygram location and they said I will receive it after May 23rd.. and now they say I will receive it SIX weeks afterwards... now apparently I didn't make more that 2,789 dollars for the three months I just started being a working mother before having to file...

nI read the IRS site said I have to make atleast $3000 for the $300.00 but people told me they made less and still received it..

I just got a tax check in the mail from the IRS for ONLY $33.00.

uhm ? someone please help me... I don't like to be told different stories..

  1. I tottally get you!!! My parents were suppose to get 1200 dollars and they only got 300 that is f'd up!! That is wrong cause a lot of people tell you one thing and then you come to find out otherwise.....we were depending on that money. Of course we'll do fine without it but still....why make us so excited lol you know.

  2. go to www.IRS.gov

Click on the Economic Stimulus Calculator

enter the information it asks for from your 2007 Form 1040

It will tell you if you are eligible and the amount you should expect to receive.

The Economic Stimulus checks have the words

    Economic Stimulus Refund

printed in very small type on the front of the check.

  3. The $33 was probably your refund.

If your total income for the year was under $3000, then no, you aren't eligible to get a stimulus check.

The people who told you they made less but still got it are probably confusing their reFUND with the reBATE.  They'd get their refund, but not a rebate.

  4. Never look a gift horse in the mouth.  If you don't like the $33 send it to me; I could use it to put a couple of gallons of gas in my tank, thank you very much.

The Economic Stimulus Package was more a political move designed to win votes for the Republicans in November than anything else.  Bush pushed hard for this.  It's just a political move, not a real economic move, and it's all about votes.  Tehre was a lot of fine print behind the $600 per taxpayer hoopla, and most of the fine print chipped away at the amount an individual would get.  Most people probably got half of what they expected, very few probably got the full amount.  The fine print whittled it down to the point where the words "economic" and "stimulus" should have been removed from the program and replaced with "vote buying", although with the amount cut down to mere pocket change it is more likely the move will backfire.

Send me the $33.  It takes $108 to fill my tank and I am just below half full now.  It won;t help much, like the economic stimulus package... umm.. I mean Vote Buying Package, but something is bettter than nothing.

By the way, your grandkids will be paying for this, and by then it won't be $33 they will ahve to pay back, it will be several hundred, in all probablility to the Chinese, who bought the Treasury Bills necessary to finance this thing.

  5. The $33 check is for something else, not the stimulus rebate.  It might be your regular refund.
