I was told denver is not real cold but then i hear it gets 0 and below in winter?

  1. Compared to other places thats not bad. I live in WI were summers can range from 70-100 degrees and winters 32-negatives. So really thats normal.

It does get cold in Denver.  Whatever clears the Rocky Mountains gets dumped on Denver.  The biggest factor is the wind which is substantial.  It also gets rather warm in the Summer in the 90-100 range.  I'm further up in the Rockies and not nearly as cold or hot.  It's not like the midwest where it stays cold for months, it's more like a week at time in Denver.

  3. Winter temperatures in Denver do occasionally drop below zero, but unlike locations further east, the bitter cold temperatures typically do not last very long (on the order of a couple of days) before chinook type winds warm temperatures back up quickly.  This is a common winter event along the front range of the Rocky mountains.

  4. Yeah and that is not exactly warm.
