  1. having them available and acceptable are two different things.  they are only good for a limited amount of time before the recruiters are required to make the recruit retake the test.  It is in your best interest, you may do better this time and have an opportunity for a better MOS.

  2. The ASVAB score is only good for one year and after that you have to retake the test. They do this so the scores can still be up to date.

  3. I was a recruiter for a while so here's the deal.  You have to take the test again.  Why?  Because your test is outdated.  It's been pointed out that 2 yrs is how long the test is valid, and they're right.

You can retest after 30 days and then again after 60-90 days.  After that, one year.

    The scores are kept forever.

...and recruiters CAN lie, they don't all do it, and I didn't have to either.  Pointing out that they do is like saying everyone with your name is dirt poor.

  4. Your recruiter misspoke when he said that they "delete" the files after two years. Your ASVAB scores are only valid for two years - after that you have to retake them. Since 2001 was the last time you took the ASVAB you definitely need to retake it since you're trying to enlist. A good study guide is "The ASVAB for Dummies" (no joke... its the most complete one I've found so far).

  5. Either your recruiter or you made a mistake. The military doesn't DELETE the ASVAB after two years, it is only VALID for two years.

  6. Whether he can still pull them up or not after 2 years you have to retake, thats the rule. You also have to wait at least 6 months in between each retake.

  7. remeber this, RECRUITERS LIE!!!! I am a navy vet.

  8. Your buddy may be able to see your score but it is still invalid your score/test is only valid for 2 years.

  9. The ASVAB score is valid for two years. Say you took it junior grade high school it was good until after senior year. So if you took it 2001 it would be good until 2003.

Don't worry about it, if you need to study go to your local library and ask the librarian for the ASVAB study guide or go to the Military section and you will find one. It's easy if you can work out logical stuff.

  10. It's not that they delete them, it's because they become invalid after two years. Just like if you took the written test for the drivers license and didn't get your license for two years, you'd have to take the written test again even though they could print your original scores out for you. It's just rules. But the fact is, you can forget or learn a LOT of stuff in two years, so the test score would likely change.

If you want to enlist, just retake the test. It's easy and you might get a better score and have a chance at getting in as an officer.

    Good luck.

  11. They are not deleted but you cannot use them for enlistment. After 2 years, you have to retake them. Sorry.
