  1. The balance left after your courses & supplies are paid for, is yours. You can spend it on whatever you want to. Beware though, Financial Aid can mean a few different things. Some Aid will have to be paid back after you graduate, some of it is given to you free & clear. Do your research and make sure you know how much you are borrowing, the finance charges and when the loan will be due by. Best of luck in school!!!

  2. It depends. Financial Aid could be a grant or just aid for you while you are in school. Most students get a grant. The grant do not have to be paid back. You only have to pay back the loans. So check into. If you do have money left after books and supplies then save the money for a rainy day.

  3. Heads up!  Financial aid can and probably does mean you're getting a loan.  It doesn't matter what you do with the extra money; you'll probably need it for books, etc.  Either way, you'll have to pay it back as part of the loan agreement you signed.

  4. Please be very careful when receiving financial aid.  My story probably is not typical, but I urge you to do work study or try to work a job for your living expenses.  This is my story: http://financialtroublegrrl.blogspot.com...

  5. what kind of aid are you getting? pell grant? a loan? work study? anyway if you are getting a pell and you have direct deposit the money left after they pay for your classes is goint to the direct deposit account or to a check which will get to you and you can use the money left for anything you want, the manily purpose is to use it for books and school supplies

  6. Well, the money is yours to do with what you please basically.  It is supposed to be used for things related to your schooling such as living expenses, books, computers, supplies, etc.  Try not to blow it on stupid things and it doesn't hurt to tuck some away (if only I practiced what I preach).

  7. Well, what I do with the left over money is buy school supplies, textbooks, and everything else I need for school.  After you get everything for school and money is left over you can spend it on yourself.
