I was told i was having transmission with my problems, i dont really trust the mechanic?

so what are some signs of transmission problems in a car? [i have a ford tarus]

Seek 3 transmission shops, get quotes, compare answer, if you don't trust then get a second or 3rd opinion, as a mechanic This is my best recommendation.

Delayed shift,whinning,slipping.All could have been stopped by changing atf to sync.ATF and changing filter and fluid every 70,000 miles(30,000 with regular atf).Most car makers put the smallest transmission cooler on the cars.Sync.ATF will stand higher temps.

Wouldnt doubt it, the ford taurus is known for tranny issues. Especially if the mileage is getting high. But another opinion from a shop is never a bad idea. Good Luck!
