I was told if too much pigment is used to tint primer it affects the primers ability to do a good job. True?

I'm worried my last batch of tinted primer has too much color.

  1. This is true. If there is too much pigment there will not be enough of the binder or base to adhere to the substrate. You don't say what kind of paint or what is getting painted.


  2. that is a finish sheen question.most tint colorants,if a medium amout is added will contribute an added level of shine. buy 1 sheen down.if going with a higher sheen,best to start with a flatter  paint.
