I was told that a froeigner can move to the US, buy a business and not pay taxes for 7 years. Is this true?

  1. In a single word, yes.  The US government created this benefit for immigrants to get them started earning a living in this country.  Years ago it was a wonderful way to start a new life.  However, in recent years, this has been very much abused and I truly wish the US would unring this bell.  

    What happens, after 7 years, is that person owning the business sponsors a family member to the US then a new cycle begins.  The original owner "retires", even though he still works at the business.  Also, the spouses do not obtain green cards (cards to allow them to be employed in the US) and because of this, they are allowed food stamps for themselves.  

    The businesses that are owned are usually gas stations and convenience stores.  All food items that they consumed are provided through the business.  The food stamps purchases meat and fish and other items that are not available at the business.  

    I remember when gas stations only sold gas-sometimes oil for the engine, provided car repairs and sometimes cigarettes.  It's all different now.

  4. No, not true. Everyone pays regular business taxes. The government wants it's money.

  5. I heard the samething with people from India.I thinks thats why  they own lots of mini-marts and gas station.Not sure what tax they don't pay
