I was told that clocks that are not running are set at 8:20 or so, time when Abe Lincoln was shot at Forbes?

  1. This is folklore.

    It's actually used by clock makers to fully expose the dial-face for display purposes.

    "...Lincoln never regained consciousness and was officially pronounced dead at 7:22:10 a.m. April 15, 1865 at the age of 56."  (EST)
