  1. Sardinia is an Island.

And because it is an island in the past it had less contact with the rest of Italy.

But it s not and island so far away from the continent so It had some contact.

Sardinia has its own language that is a Latin language like Italian, french and Spanish. The life in the past was mainly of Shepard, now there is also a lot of tourism.

If you go in a touristic place you will not find a lot of difference with other places, it is still a western country with the same religion and more and less the same habits of the rest of Italy. And also in the most internal zones people speak Italian because they go to school in Italian.

  2. Lots of differences.  Google it.  Peoples that moved in there were Greeks, Etruscians, Cartiginians, Phonecians, and others.  Lots of different rulers, lots of mix of cultures.

    It is facinating.

  3. my grandparent are from Sardinia and i went there every summer... life isn't very different from the rest of Southern Italy,(main differences are between North and South Italy). about culture, yeah, is quite different..the dialect is considered a real language! but it is always Italy and the main culture is the same, food (is great!! ), religion...

you can visit this http://www.mondosardegna.net/eng/index.h... , is a really good site(tradition, food, history, nature and structures with pics).

if you can, go there..is more expensive that the rest of Italy but seaside is great!!! photos are true and you can see it with you eyes... Sardegna is the top place of Italian VIPs , Costa Smeralda is an exclusive place... but too much expensive...
