I was told there are programs where you live in a house rent free in exchange for fixing it up?

I've heard there is a program where you fix the house up and live in it while keeping it maintained and doing upkeep. When you move or pass away it stays property of the owner not the person living in it. Does anyone know of a program like that? Or a program for cheap housing?

There is no program for that, you could do some remodeling to your apartment and have it deducted from your rent, and sometimes, not always you will have a free month. I have done it before. but watch out, because these people want jobs to be done really cheap, and sometimes is not even worth it.
