I was told to look fo he pencil icon under question to exend time on my question. can't find it.?

The missing icon is a temporary issue and this matter have been escalated to our Engineering Department. We hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.

If you go to the question you're looking for, you should see several icons that if you put your mouse over them, it opens a little box with options.  One of those icons has one that says "extend answer deadline" or something like that.  Once you find that, click it and it'll extend your time to 7 days.  I hope you find it!
