A lot of that will depend on the speed of your Internet connection, the speed of your computer, and the size of your "virtual memory" file. if any of these are too slow or too small, it can cause the problem you have described.

Your Virtual Memory is the amount of Free memory space that you have to use at any given time - whatever is not given over to permanent storage. you might want to check the last time you did a Defrag of your system and clear out some of the "junk" that is stored in the recycle bin and "cookies" files to clear out some of this.
