  2. If you owe any tax you still need to file.  If you are due a refund, you generally have 3 years from the due-date of the return to claim it.  

    However in your situation if you were unable to file for an extended period of time due to your stroke, the IRS may well grant a waiver that will allow you to still claim any refund due.  You may need to provide a doctor's certification that you were unable to handle filing your taxes on time, but it's worth looking in to.

  3. It's not too late to file, but it's too late to get a refund if you had one coming.
