I was watching my T.V. when all of the the sudden it...?

Makes an incredibly loud earsplitting air-raid siren type of sound and it would not stop unless I turned it off. It was definitely one of the scariest things that ever happened to me. When I turned it back on, it was fine. What could cause this noise?

Oh yeah, it was not the program I was watching. The volume was very low.

has this happened to anyone else?

It needs the audio amp chip replacing ! they are not expensive !, maybe $10 or so !
