Marlee had for the public movie theater. I normally go to the movies with my family and we rent it later on dvd so I can watch it with the CC (closed caption). Does anyone know where these are sold or how it works?

  1. I go to the movies and usually use the rear captioning. It's like a piece of plastic almost like a mirror but more opaque and it reflects the captioning which is on a device behind the seats near the projector.

Check Fomdi. Just type in your city's zipcode and it will give you listings of all theaters in your area that have open captioning, closed captioning and rear captioning.

  2. I no longer go to the movies because I prefer to watch at home with closed captioning, but have heard about this from friends.  What you saw in the movie is called rear window captioning.  It is a form of closed captioning.

If you go to the WGBH site below you can find out if there are any theaters in your area that do this and also some of the movies that are setup to use Rear Window Captioning.
