I was wondering, does motorcycle give off the same amount of CO2 as well as cars, vans, or trucks?

What if the whole world ride motorcycles and it will be so much simpler, with easy traveling, less CO2, and less accident!? But, only buy a family van for vacationing or traveling to a far off place with families, and... except for truckers to go back and forth on productivity and shipping’s.

However, would motorcycles have the same amount of CO2 as any other vehicles, when the whole world is riding it?

  1. i used to get 60mpg from my 750cc bike and over 100mpg from my moped, so there are considerable savings over a car. i had a top box that carried a big bags worth of chopping, and you can get panniers.

my dad took me to school on the back of his bike a few times when i was late, all the other kids would look out the windows in envy - great!

they are more dangerous for the rider, mainly because of stupid selfish car drivers not paying attention, but less dangerous than a car for other bike riders, bicycle riders and pedestrians.

  2. Motorcycles, on average, use less fuel than cars or trucks so the emissions of CO2 would be less.

  3. most motorcycles do produce less CO2.

    small motorcycles produce considerably less.

if 1/2 of our cars were replaced by smaller motorcycles, then the US would be almost energy independent.

    but not quite.

"and less accident!?"  but many more fatal.  motorcycles are very dangerous.

"only buy a family van for vacationing"  one would hope you mean rent a van.

how would you get groceries home from the market?

how would you get small children to school?

  4. Actually, there would be more accidents. There would also be alot more motorcycles, more than the number of cars could ever amount to. This idea wouldnt work.

  5. Actually motorcycles are much more dangerous than cars.

They burn less fuel, so their exhaust is less, but it doesn't reduce much in the way of pollution.  Some motorcycles don't have mufflers and contribute to sound pollution.

BTW, despite what the media wants you to believe, CO2 is a natural and harmless gas.  It is what plants need to survive.  If we reduced it too much, the trees would die, but I doubt we can reduce it much since we breathe it out constantly.

  6. Are you kidding? Motorcyles=death traps. They do emit less CO2, but the world would be better off with bicycles.
