i wanted my last name down my forarm in old english.do you thank to many ppl have old english tattoos?what is a good tat to do in that area?

Yes, I have seen a lot of people have it, especially in old English, but i don't think its stupid or "you're gonna forget it"

its to represent your family name and I get that.

Old English is a pretty common font for that kind of thing, maybe try looking through all the fonts on your Microsoft word or something to check out fonts to see if anything pops out at you.

I think old english looks best when youre getting something down your forearm if it is vertical, if its horizontal, maybe a manly cursive?

Why would you get a tattoo of your name? Are you going to forget it or something?

Getting your name tattooed on your is so stupid and unfortunately so many people have it, especially in old English lettering. Get something more creative and less stupid.

I think the tattoo you describe is very common.  Odd that your name could be a sort of cliche.  Picking a different font would work, unless you really mean Old English as a language, but the name thing, in my opinion, isn't very attractive.  Other peoples' names are worse, but your own name? Why?  It sounds a bit like you just want a tattoo, but a good tattoo has a good reason behind it.

Try some other word or line of something (not love or power or peace) - something very different with only meaning for you.  The test is: would you have to explain it if someone saw it?  (Yes is good.)  Would someone else recognize that word/phrase from tv, daily conversation, etc.? (No tends to be better).  Do you know what that word means in general and what it means to you? (Yes is essential.)

many people choose old english lettering for names, esp last names.

it's not like there aren't thousands of other font types out there to pick from.

if you are concerened about using a common font pick something else. try the free font sites avail. you can download the font for word- type out your last name and print it for the artist to use. they can size it at the shop on their scanner/printer.

it's a common area bcse it gives a good deal of space for that sort of a tat. it's not a bad thing.

go for it if it is what you want. go for it if you know in 30 yrs you will still want to see it there.
