Question:

I was wondering about overseas african aid?

I live in Alberta, Canada and i would very much so like to visit africa, but not like a vacation, an aid program (For example to deworm orphans or build wells or do construction etc.). I am having a hard time finding an organisation that I can do this with so if anyone has done this or knows of one that I can that'd be awesome!

(I am aware that obviously this is strictly volunteer work so no pay and that I would be paying for expenses)

  1. Peace Corps, though it can be a lengthy process.  Also large church communities.  Unfortunately going there to help isn't as easy as stopping by the orphanage downtown.

  2. www.risingfountains.org

Email Mathias Zimba directly...he's the director. I think he's had volunteers from Canada before and you can read the Volunteer Blog! Good luck---they are always looking for volunteers.

Another one to try is in Malawi and is www.rippleafrica.org

Geoff and Liz Furber run this one and there is ALOT of information for potential volunteers on their website.

Also, www.africancommunityproject.com  is run by a great man named Garry from Canada. He may be able to use your help too!
